| I am an Ex-servicemen . My diploma/degree is not from Armed Forces. Do I need to fullfil the required eligibilty criteria as regard the stipulated percentage of marks prescribed ? |
| In case the requisite qualification posses by you is from other then Armed Forces, you are required to fulfill the eligibilty criteria as regard the stipulated percentage of marks prescribed. |
| I have done Associate Degree Program(ADP) in Engineering from IGNOU. Am I elligible to apply for the post of Supervisor Trainee (Engineering) ? |
Candidates possesing ADP from IGNOU in relevant discipline can apply for the post of Supervisor Trainee (Engineer).

| I have appeared for my final Semester/Year Examinations and the results are expected to be announced shortly. Am I eligible to apply? |
Only those candidates who have already passed the qualifying exam and & have the final marks sheet available with them at the time of filling the application are eligible to apply. As such candidate having passed their Engineering Diploma/ Bachelor's in Commerce upto 20th August, 2011, before submission of application, are eligible to apply

| In my Diploma Course/ B.Com only CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grade has been awarded in place of percentage of marks. Can I enter the grade in my application? |
Candidates, who have been awarded CGPA / GPA / SGPA or letter grades, should convert the grades to % and provide only the equivalent percentage of marks in the application form.

| My aggregate % of marks in Diploma / B.Com as given in my final year marksheet provided by my college is 77.14%. However when I fill my year-wise marks in BHEL’s online application form, my percentages as computed by the system comes to 75%. Explain the discrepancy? |
It is reiterated that as per BHEL job-specifications, the aggregate of marks of all years/ semesters means average of marks/ GPA of all the years/ semesters without taking into account the weightage, if any, given to any particular year/ semester by the Institute or University. This is explained below :

| For the post of Supervisor Trainees(Engg.), qualifications prescribed stipulate full time regular Diploma in Engineering from a recognised Indian University / Institute only. Hence with AMIE qualification you are not eligible . |

For the post of Supervisor Trainees(Engg.) - Electronics, candidates with Electronics and Instrumentation Diploma would be considered. | Are the Diploma Holders in Structural Engineering / Highway Engineering and Construction Technology eligible to apply against the Civil Engineering Discipline? |

I am an Ex-serviceman and I have completed my diploma in Mechanical Transport Fitter. Am I eligible to apply for Supervisor Trainee (Engineering)?

We regret that for the post of Supervisor Trainee(Engg.) - Mechanical Transport Fitter can not be considered as equivalent to Mechanical Diploma. However, if there is documentary evidence stating that the Trade is equivalent to Mechanical, you may attach the same for our consideration.

For Ex-Servicemen, filling of the details about Marks is not Mandatory, as such, they can leave the columns blank.

| The upper age limit of 27 Years is prescribed as on 01st August, 2011 and hence you are not eligible. |
I am meeting all requirements with respect to Educational Qualifications and I have served in a Power Generation / Transmission Company for a period of 4 years. Is there any relaxation for me in the upper age limit?

| For Supervisor Trainee (Engg.) only: The Upper age is further relaxable upto 8 years, as on 01st August, 2011 to candidates possessing working experience in a reputed Company. This age relaxation will be available to candidates having aforesaid experience of atleast 56 months of continuous or intermittent service for availing 8 years of relaxation and on pro-rata basis for less than 8 years relaxation. Such candidates will, however, have to compete with other eligible candidates in Test / Interview, etc. |

You may enter your Acknowledgement No. and Date of Birth in the Latest Status Link of our Home Page on this site and you can get information about your application, Written Test, etc.

| Can I send a Cheque in lieu of the Challan along with the Acknowledgement Slip? |
Only the BHEL copy of Challan should be sent. No other form of payment is acceptable.

Should I enclose any self-addressed/stamped envelope along with the Acknowledgement Slip?

| You need not enclose any self-addressed/stamped envelope along with the Acknowledgement Slip as you have to download your written test Permission Slip and other documents from the web-site. |

If you so desire, you may apply as General Candidate (if eligible for Gen category) giving your category as "Gen". In such an event, your candidature will be considered as "GEN" and no change in category shall be allowed at a later date. |

I am working in a Govt/ Public Sector Company. Should I enclose NOC from my employer at the time of applying for the written test?

| Candidates presently employed in Central/State Govt departments, PSUs, Autonomous bodies should submit the NOC at the time of Interview, in case they qualify upto this stage. |

Will any Travelling Allowance be paid to me for attending the Written Test / Interview?
|
No Travelling Allowance is payable to the candidates for attending the Written Test. You will have to attend the Written test at your own expense.
Candidates attending the Interview will be reimbursed second sleeper train fare as per rules. However, at the time of Interview if it is found that the candidate does not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, he will neither be allowed for the Interview nor paid any Travelling Allowance.
